168 Hours: Moscow cannot support oligarch in Armenia, says Russian analyst
Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan cannot have the support of the Kremlin, Modest Kolerov, Russian political analyst, chief editor of regnum.ru, has said.
In response to the question of 168 Hours newspaper of whether Tsarukyan can have support in the Kremlin, the Russian analyst said, “No, he cannot. If the matter concerns a respected politician, a benefactor and a businessman, then there is no problem. But if a person forms an opposition, he should clearly and thoroughly present the alternative he offers with his candidacy. We have not heard a clear answer to this question from him. Moscow cannot support an oligarch or oligarch-linked opposition in Armenia.”
