Peshmerga repels ISIS attack on Makhmour district south of Erbil
On Wednesday, the Kurdish Peshmerga forces managed to repulse an ISIS attack on Makhmour district south of Erbil, Iraq, and more than 10 ISIS members were killed in the clashes, according to a military source.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The Kurdish Peshmerga forces rebelled an ISIS attack in the axis of Makhmour – Cowir (40 km south of Erbil) in the late hours of yesterday,” noting that, “The clashes continued for several hours between the two sides.”
The source added, “ISIS militants were not able to progress towards the Peshmerga posts,” adding that, “More than 10 elements of the terrorist group were killed during the clashes.”
