Marseille City Council to commemorate 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide
On February 17, Marseille City Council approved the draft decision to hold events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, yerakouyn.com reports.
“The first genocide of the 20th century, the Armenian Genocide, must be condemned, and denial is an insult to the memory of the victims and to the dignity of their descendants,” Deputy Mayor Didier Parakian said.
The City Council decided to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, develop programs for the Armenian Genocide recognition, and fight against its denial.
