Armenian parliament rejects draft on President’s impeachment
The Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs on Friday rejected the draft presented by opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) MP Nikol Pashinyan on the impeachment of the Armenian President.
Arpine Hovhannisyan and Hovhannes Sahakyan, MPs from Republican Party of Armenia, said that the draft has no legal bases and lacks clear formulations, and represents the personal opinion of the opposition lawmaker.
The committee members voted against the inclusion of the draft into the agenda of the National Assembly’s upcoming four-day session.
