Negotiator at the center for facilitating the hostages' release at the Security Service of Ukraine Yuri Tandyt said this on the air of the Ukraine's Channel 5, Ukrinform reports.
"A few days ago I returned from the Vatican, where we met with Pope Francis. The day before yesterday a letter from President Poroshenko with the invitation had been given to the Pope, and he told us that he would come to Ukraine. So I want to congratulate Ukrainians that the Pope Francis, who prays for peace in our country, is likely to come to us," Tandyt said.
On February 21, German chancellor Angela Merkel met with Pope Francis, and discussed, inter alia, the situation in Ukraine.
