Head of presidential administration of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mehdiyev has long been absent from the country, and the authorities are scrupulously hiding his place, Azerbaijani newspaper Azadlig reports citing the TV channel Azerbaijan Saati.
According to the newspaper, the TV channel reports that they were able to find out that Ramiz Mehdiyev is currently being treated in a clinic in Germany. Moreover, according to the TV channel, he was registered under another name to avoid publicity and information leak in the media about his health. The TV channel's source claims that his condition is assessed as extremely grave.
As the source has it, Mehdiyev will not be able to come back to his office because of his health. Besides, the head of presidential administration of Azerbaijan has been frequently changing the clinics recently. ''It can be for avoiding being revealed; it is also possible because of the serious aggravation of his health,'' the source concludes.
In its turn, the newspaper reminds that sources standing close to the official circles in Baku continue to claim that Mehdiyev has recovered, returned to Baku and will soon come back to work.
It's worth to mention that Azerbaijani information agency Turan recently reported that the head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mehdiyev had not appeared in public for three months. He did not attend also the events dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of Aghdam events of 1992. According to unofficial data, 76-year-old Mehdiyev is seriously ill and moves with difficulty, but there is no official confirmation of this. At the same time, according to the news agency, nobody has yet taken the office of the head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan.
As Turan had reported earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had signed an order for appointing Ali Hasanov the assistant of the head of state for social and political issues. According to unofficial reports, Ali Hasanov is aiming for the post of head of the presidential administration of the country, for replacing Ramiz Mehdiyev, who will soon leave his post because of health reasons.
