Consolidation of opposition forces is necessary – Heritage MP
It would be wrong to say that there is no opposition force in Armenia, Tevan Poghosyan, member of the opposition Heritage parliamentary faction, told reporters on Monday.
In his words, before February 20, the opposition forces were consolidated to some extent and despite having different positions, the opposition leaders tried to act jointly.
“Consolidation of opposition forces is necessary. Time will show whether or not they will manage to do it,” Poghosyan said.
As regards Prosperous Armenia Party’s newly elected chairperson Naira Zohrabyan’s statement that Prosperous Armenia goes into opposition, Poghosyan said that the “party needs to prove this through its work.”
Asked whether the format of cooperation between the three non-government parliamentary forces may be restored, the lawmaker said, “Time will show that. A five-party cooperation may be established since there are already five opposition forces in the parliament.”
