Kerry arrives in Egypt to meet Sisi, Abbas, Abdullah
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry arrived Friday in the Egyptian resort of Sharm al-Sheikh where he is to meet President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to discuss the fight against ISIS, an AFP journalist said.
Kerry is to attend an investment conference in the Red Sea resort organized by Cairo to jumpstart its battered economy and attract foreign investment which has plummeted since the 2011 uprising that ousted long-time president Hosni Mubarak.
The top U.S. diplomat will also meet Jordan's King Abdullah II and Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, said a State Department official on the plane carrying Kerry.
After the three-day conference, Kerry is to fly to Switzerland for a new round of talks on Iran's suspect nuclear program.
