Haqqin.az: Azerbaijani MP makes ‘thief-in-law’ Rovshen Lenkeranski role model for youth
“As an MP, I am not fond of being groundless. I want every Azerbaijani be respectful to such a deserving son of Azerbaijan as Rovshen.” This sensational statement about Rovshen Lenkeranski, an Azerbaijani ‘thief-in-law,’ was made by an Azerbaijani MP, chairman of governmental party Ana Veten - Fazail Agamali – who is his relative – in an interview to Azvision.az, Azerbaijani news outlet Haqqin.az reports.
According to the article, the MP does not hide his family ties with the criminal authority. “My cousin is Rovshen Lenkeranski’s brother’s wife. Both me and my brother were with Rovshen when he took revenge for his father’s murder. We defended him and helped how we could. He was not worried at all that he had to take revenge upon his father’s killer,” the MP said calling on people not to view the murder committed by Rovshen Lenkeranski from juridical angle.
“Everyone had a positive attitude towards a 17-year-old fellow avenging his father’s killer right in the court. Everyone said their sons must be like Rovshen because he took revenge for his father. In a legal state this murder might have been dealt in another way. But I am grateful to those who understood Rovshen,” the leader of Ana Beten said.
According to the article, the MP also highlighted that Rovshen Lenkeranski is a most precious person for the whole Azerbaijan. Fazail Agamali also noted that Rovshen Lenkeranski is an exemplary family man who does not want his son to follow his path.
In the article, published on the outlet Haqqin.az, the author highlights that Rovshen Lenkeranski has never declared about his ties with Fazail Agamali which can suggest that the parliamentarian and leader of a whole party is much prouder of his family ties with the ‘thief-in-law’ than the latter – for his ties with an MP and leader of Ana Veten. As the article has it, Agamali wants to prolong term in the Parliament for another 5 years before the upcoming elections. And this takes ‘going for broke.’
It is noted in the article that no one, including Lenkeranski himself, denies his being a criminal, gangster, bandit and murderer. Yet Agamali actually normalizes that picture and sets him an example of human dignity for the youth. According to the MP, he is a role model.
