CEC publishes results of local elections
Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has released the results of local elections in several Armenian communities held on Sunday.
In particular, Ruben Khlghatyan was reelected as Mayor of Armavir. He received 8,169 votes.
In Ohanavan village of Aragatsotn province the incumbent administrator, a member of Prosperous Armenia Party, won the election with 704 votes, while his rival candidate, a member of Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), received 615 votes.
Local elections were held in a total of 33 communities of Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Shirak, Syunik, Vayots Dzor, and Tavush provinces.
In 25 communities residents elected head, in 6 communities voters cast ballots to elect municipal council members, and 2 communities elected both head and members of municipal council.
