MP names reason of Azerbaijani delegation’s non-participation in Euronest PA session
The reason behind Azerbaijani delegates’ non-participation is no secret, Tevan Poghosyan, an MP from opposition Heritage Party, stated during the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly session in Yerevan.
Members of all Azerbaijani NGOs that attended the events with the participation of Armenians were later imprisoned or fled Azerbaijan, Poghosyan said.
In his words, the atmosphere of fear in Azerbaijan is the reason that the representatives of Azerbaijani civil society did not come to Yerevan.
He added that Armenia’s delegation attended a Euronest session in Baku, which implied that an Azerbaijani delegation would also participate in the organization’s session in Yerevan, but this agreement was not observed.
