Switzerland ready to mediate again in Armenian-Turkish normalization – Ambassador
The composition of the Switzerland’s delegation that will come to Armenia on April 24 is under discussion, Swiss Ambassador to Armenia Lukas Gasser said at a news conference on Monday.
The Ambassador added that he can say for sure that a big delegation from the Swiss parliament will visit the Armenian Genocide Memorial Tsitsernakaberd on April 24.
Regarding the Armenian-Turkish Protocols signed on April 10, 2009 in Zurich and the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, the envoy said that Switzerland is ready to be a mediator again.
“If the sides have willingness to normalize relations, Switzerland is ready to contribute to this. We have close ties with the authorities of both Armenia and Turkey. We are aware of the Armenian leadership’s decision to recall the Armenian-Turkish Protocols from the Armenian National Assembly. Nevertheless, we believe that the Armenian-Turkish Protocols is the best way for the normalization of the relations between the two countries,” Lukas Gasser stressed.
