Draft statement on Gyumri family murder not included in parliament agenda
The draft statement introduced by MP from opposition Heritage Party Zaruhi Postanjyan regarding the murder of the Avetisyan family in the Armenian city of Gyumri on January 12, 2015 was not included in the Armenian parliament agenda.
42 MPs voted in favor of including this issue in the agenda of National Assembly, no one voted against, and one MP abstained from voting. However, the Republican Party of Armenia, which has a majority in parliament, did not participate in the vote.
The statement demands that Russian serviceman Valery Permyakov, who is charged with murder of the Avetisyan family, be handed over to the Armenian law enforcers.
