
Armenian parliament adopts statement on Greek and Assyrian genocide
Today the Armenian National Assembly unanimously, with 117 votes in favor, adopted the draft statement condemning genocide of Greeks and Assyrians perpetrated in the Ottoman Turkey.
Deputy Speaker of Armenian National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov said on Monday that this is a “compromise” document as members of all the six parliamentary factions, independent MPs, representatives of the Greek and Assyrian communities, historians, Turkish studies experts, scholars and representatives of the Diaspora participated in its drafting.
