NKR Talish village headman denies Azerbaijani media’s disinformation about ‘confronting soldiers’
With the recent escalation of the situation in NKR-Azerbaijan line of contact the number of Azerbaijani provocations and disinformation in the media has grown in the information field. In particular, Azerbaijani information outlet Haqqin.az yesterday published another falsification about an alleged confrontation between the residents of village Talish of Martakert district, Nagorno Karabakh Republic, and soldiers ‘of special forces of elite subdivisions of Armenian Armed Forces.’ According to the information of the Azerbaijani site, the special forces of Armenia had allegedly planned to carry out ‘a special operation towards the Azerbaijani positions.’
The journalists of the Azerbaijani site must have watched enough of Hollywood films about special operations forces and they quite vaguely realize the activities of the Armenian subdivisions who do not take detachments on two trucks into a dense-populated area to carry out military objectives.
Moreover, Haqqin.az cites ‘Armenian media’ without mentioning a certain source. However, it blunders attributing comments ‘about confrontation’ to Talish village headman apparently accounting on its own audience who would not verify the information.
Meanwhile, commenting on the situation for Panorama.am Vilen Petrosyan denied the disinformation of the Azerbaijani site calling it ‘utter nonsense’ and stressing that he had never said anything of the sort.
“The attack of any Artsakh village residents on their own soldiers is the fiction of Azerbaijani propaganda,” the village headman stated.
Petrosyan confirmed that everything is quiet in their village and its residents are actively engaged in agriculture. Since the ceasefire agreement of 1994, the village Talish has not had human losses by the adversary side despite the claims of the Azerbaijani outlet.
