Ohanyan: For first time since ceasefire, Azerbaijan used 120 mm artillery
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan on Friday met with Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
They discussed the recent destabilization of the situation on the border between Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces, the press service of Armenian Defense Ministry reports.
The Defense Minister informed Ambassador Kasprzyk about ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan, stressing that in addition to making infiltration attempts and using weapons of different calibers, 60 mm and 82 mm mortars, for the first time since the ceasefire was established, Azerbaijan used 120 mm artillery.
Ohanyan said that under such tactics by Azerbaijani armed forces, Azerbaijan’s military and political leadership is fully responsible for the consequences of escalation of the situation.
Ambassador Kasprzyk said that he will make every effort within his power to stabilize the situation.
