Former NSS head says April 24 opposition rally is senseless
It is senseless to hold a rally on April 24, 2015 – Armenian Genocide centenary commemoration day, Gurgen Yeghiazaryan, former deputy head of the National Security Service, told reporters on Monday.
The rallies could have been planned for April 25 or 26, Yeghiazaryan said, commenting on the rallies to be held by Zhirayr Sefilyan on April 24.
Yeghiazaryan declined to answer the question on whether, in his view, Sefilyan will be able to overthrow the current government in the country. “I would not want to say anything negative that could harm Sefilyan and his friends. So I will keep my opinion to myself,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said that he will support Sefilyan if force is used during the rallies.
