Still early to speak of results of Armenia’s accession to EEU – experts
Only 3 months have passed since Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), and the current period is a period of adaptation, Aza Mihranyan, head of the Department of Economics of the Institute of CIS Countries, said on Wednesday.
Changes in trade sector will become noticeable in about a year and then we can speak about the first results, she said.
Mrs Mihranyan said that representatives of the Eurasian Integration Committee and Armenian businessmen held discussions during which they spoke about the existing challenges. In her words, all the existing problems are of technical nature.
Svetlana Glinkina, deputy director of the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said for her part that the existing problems cannot be solved in a short time. She noted that it is still early to speak about positive results of Armenia’s membership in the EEU.
