Four injured after suicide bombing near Damascus hospital
A suicide bomber blew himself up close to a hospital in central Damascus, injuring four people, a law enforcement source told Sputnik Thursday.
No insurgent group has taken responsibility for the attack.
“Four people were injured following the terror attack. A suicide bomber with the explosive belt blew himself up opposite the Al-Hayat hospital in Al Mazraa’a neighborhood."
Cars parked nearby were damaged by the blast.
Civil war erupted in Syria in 2011. The country’s government forces are fighting a number of rebel groups, including the Islamic State, which recently seized large territories of Syria and Iraq.
Over 220,000 people have been killed in Syria and millions have been displaced since the military confrontation started, according to recent UN estimates.
