Yemeni President suspected of crimes against national security
Yemeni Attorney General has launched administrative proceedings against the country's President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi on suspicion of crimes against national security, local media reported Wednesday, according to Sputnik.
The Yemeni news outlets also said that a number of other senior officials, including former presidential advisors, could be involved in the process.
President Hadi has fled the country shortly after the Suadi Arabian-led coalition began launching airstrikes, targeting the Houthi rebels, upon Hadi's request last month.
The Houthis, who support former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, are in control of large parts of the Yemen, including capital Sanaa.
According to the World Health Organization's latest figures on the Yemeni conflict, nearly 650 people have been killed and over 2,200 injured since March 19.
