Car bombing kills at least 6 civilians in Baghdad
Iraqi officials say that a car bomb in a commercial area in the capital, Baghdad, has killed at least six civilians, The Associated Press reported.
A police officer says the explosives-laden car, which was parked near an outdoor market in the southwestern Amil neighborhood, went off in the early afternoon Monday. He says the explosion also wounded at least 15 civilians.
A medical official confirmed the causality figures. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to talk to reporters.
The attack comes as Iraqi government troops and allied Shiite and Sunni fighters are battling ISIS extremists in a campaign trying to dislodge the militant group from nearly a third of Iraq.
