Karabakh President offers condolences on academician Samvel Grigoryan’s death
Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan sent a condolence letter to the family of academician Samvel Grigoryan, full member of Russian Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, according to the President’s press office.
The letter runs as follows:
"We have learnt with deep sorrow about the death of academician Samvel Grigoryan, a world-renowned scientist, who had a substantial contribution to the development of mechanics and astrophysics both in the Russian Federation and beyond its borders.
Born in Artsakh, having lived and worked far from his historic homeland, academician Grigoryan never forgot his native land, its concerns and problems, took an active part in the life of the Armenian Diaspora, to contribute his mite to the development of its ties with the homeland and cementing of the Armenian-Russian friendship.
The Artsakh Republic rated high Samvel Grigoryan's patriotic activity, awarding him the "Gratitude" medal.
Our nation lost one of its deserving sons. Expressing our deep condolences, we share the pain and bitterness in connection with the grievous loss having befallen us.
The memory of Samvel Grigoryan will always remain bright in the hearts of grateful Artsakh people.”
