Serzh Sargsyan receives Chairman of EDB Management Board
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan today received Dmitry Pankin, Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), the President’s press office reports.
The President welcomed the guest to our country, congratulated him on his appointment as Chairman of the EDB Management Board and expressed the hope that Mr. Pankin’s experience and knowledge will give fresh impetus to the bank’s development. The President praised the activities the bank carries out in Armenia and stressed that our country is keen on enhancing cooperation with the EDB, by exploring the opportunities to engage the bank in implementing priority and promising projects for Armenia.
The Armenian President and Chairman of the EDB Management Board noted that Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union opens up new horizons and creates favorable conditions to promote cooperation between Armenia and the EDB.
Dmitry Pankin expressed satisfaction with the fact that yesterday the Republic of Armenia and the EDB concluded the Investment Loan Agreement for the North-South Road Corridor Construction Project (Tranche 4). He noted that the bank is interested in implementing different projects in Armenia in the areas of, inter alia, infrastructure development, energy, agriculture and mining industry, and is glad that Armenia also prioritizes those economic sectors.
