System of a Down gives concert dedicated to Armenian Genocide centennial in Lyon
On April 14, the world famous System of a Down rock band gave a concert in Lyon, France, in the framework of the concert tour dedicated to the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, entitled Wake up the souls Tour 2015, the press service of Armenian Foreign Ministry reports.
The concert of the rock band kicked off with the screening of the video clip about the Armenian Genocide – unique call for recognition and condemnation of Armenian Genocide, in front of 17,000 audience at Halle Tony Garnier. Serj Tankian expressed words of gratitude to France and friendly French people for just position of France on the Armenian Genocide.
After the concert, Ambassador of Armenia to France Vigen Chitechian, Consul General of Armenia in Lyon Nikolay Sarkisov, First Deputy Mayor of Lyon Georges Kepenekian and other officials met the members of the rock band System of a Down.
