Armenian Defense Ministry spokesperson denies Azerbaijani media disinformation about ‘floating shells down river’
A shell was detected in the irrigation ditch flowing along backyard in a bordering to Armenia village in Tovruz district, Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani media report. Based upon that ‘finding’ the Azerbaijani information agency APA claims that the shells ‘are deliberately floated down the river by Armenians’ to harm the residents of border villages.
The spokesperson for Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Artsrun Hovhannisyan denied the report in a telephone interview with Panorama.am.
“Such kind of disinformation by the Azerbaijani side is nothing new to us. The Azerbaijani media are harping on the same string,” he said.
In March of the current year, Azerbaijani media spread disinformation about Armenian subdivisions shooting Azerbaijani civilians claiming that allegedly ‘the Armenian armed subdivisions in Aghdam district opened fire on civilians when they went to the cemetery.’ Senor Hasratyan, the head of the NKR Defense Army press service, denied the disinformation of the Azerbaijani side in his interview to Panorama.am.
