39 apartments destroyed, over 70 people displaced due to fire in Ottawa
A total of 39 apartments were destroyed and 75 people displaced as a result of the fire near Algonquin College in Canada's capital Ottawa, CP24 reported, citing the Red Cross, according to Sputnik.
According to the Red Cross, the fire began at a three-storey building and has displaced nearly 40 students of the college.
The Red Cross said "they found a place for every displaced person to stay…either at Algonquin College, with family, friends, or at other buildings owned by the same company," the news portal said.
Ottawa Fire says the cause of the blaze and the estimate of the damage are yet unknown.
