Caroline Cox: We pray that Great Britain and U.S. recognize Armenian Genocide
The Pope Francis’ statement on the Armenian Genocide may encourage the Catholic states to follow this move and recognize the Armenian Genocide, Baroness Caroline Cox told reporters on Wednesday.
She noted that a large number of U.S. states have recognized the Armenian Genocide, and expressed regret that the United States government has not recognized the Genocide.
“We pray that Great Britain and the United States recognize the Armenian Genocide,” she said, adding that certain changes are observed in the position of Great Britain. She expressed hope that Germany will also recognize the Armenian Genocide.
Mrs Cox stressed that the recognition of the Armenian Genocide is in the interests of different countries.
She expressed confidence that sooner or later Turkey will recognize the Armenian Genocide, which will be a very important event for the Armenians.
