Members of Union against Genocide organization, Turks and Kurds by nationality, have arrived in Armenia to participate in Armenian Genocide centenary events.
Publicist and public figure Sargis Hatspanyan introduced them at a press conference on Saturday.
According to him, every year they hold various events to commemorate the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide. The organization Union against Genocide recognizes and condemns the Armenian Genocide and demands recognition and reparation from Turkey, Hatspanyan said.
Ali Ertem, a member of the organization Union against Genocide, Turkish by nationality, for his part, noted that Ankara’s decision to hold the commemorations of Gallipoli Battle centenary on April 24, the day of Armenian Genocide centenary, is disgraceful.
With this, Ertem said, Turkey demonstrated its inhumanity.
Another member of the organization, Recep Marasl, supported his view, calling Ankara’s move “absurd.”
