Nepal declares three-day mourning for earthquake victims
Minister of Nepal Sushil Koirala has declared three days of mourning on Tuesday for the victims of the magniture-7.9 earthquake, which rocked the country on Saturday. He said as much in his televised address to the nation, TASS reported.
"In memory of our Nepalese and foreign brothers and sisters, senior citizens and children who died as a result of this devastating earthquake, we decided to declare three days of national mourning beginning today," the Zee News information portal quotes him as saying.
According to the latest reports, the death toll from the earthquake in Nepal has reached 5,057 people, more than 10,000 others were injured.
