CEC: Abovyan mayoral elections to be held on June 7
The mayoral elections in the city of Abovyan, Kotayk region, will be held on June 7, a source in the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) told Panorama.am.
The candidates’ registration will take place from May 17-19 and the election campaign will launch on May 26 and will conclude on June 5.
Former Mayor of Abovyan, Karapet Guloyan, was appointed Governor of Kotayk region. Guloyan is the son-in-law of former chairman of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan.
Tsarukyan’s assistant, Vahagn Gevorgyan, and businessman Arthur Harutyunyan have so far expressed willingness to run in the elections.
