NKR parliamentary elections were free and transparent - Sharmazanov
The parliamentary elections held in Nagorno-Karabakh on May 3 were free and transparent and fully corresponded to the democratic standards, Armenian National Assembly Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov told reporters on Monday. Mr Sharmazanov led the observation mission of Armenian parliament in Sunday’s elections.
In his words, the elections can serve an example for the region’s countries in terms of the level of democracy.
“In these elections the Artsakh people once again confirmed their right to live in a free and independent Artsakh,” he added.
Sharmazanov noted that the international observers also stressed that the elections were held in compliance with the established norms.
