Vigen Sargsyan: Reaction was stronger than expected, Armenian side’s voice was heard
The events held in Armenia on April 22-24 served their purpose - raising the international community’s awareness of the Armenian Genocide and presenting this issue in the context of the general fight against the crime of genocide, Vigen Sargsyan, head of the Presidential Administration, coordinator of the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial, told reporters on Monday.
The reaction was stronger than expected and the voice of the Armenian side was heard, he stressed.
Sargsyan highlighted the holding of the Global Forum against the Crime of Genocide as an important step on the way to the international struggle against this crime against humanity.
He also underscored the Service of Canonization of the Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide as an “important manifestation of ideological, spiritual and national unity.”
The official said that Armenian Genocide commemoration events continue in different countries after April 24.
“The events will continue until April 24, 2016. We have a clear program of cultural and political events,” he noted.
