Idea of national unity united everyone on Shoushi liberation day – Astvatsatur Petrosyan
The liberation of Shoushi on May 8, 1992 became the beginning of formation of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army, Major General Astvatsatur Petrosyan, participant of the Karabakh war, chairman of Eagle Suicide Attackers Union NGO, told reporters on Friday.
According to him, on the day of Shoushi liberation the idea of national unity united everyone.
“The operation of Shoushi liberation was planned in four directions, and no one had expected that,” he stressed.
May 9 is a special holiday for the Armenian people. On that day, the Armenian people celebrate the anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), as well as victory in the Karabakh war (1991-1994) and liberation of Shoushi.
