Zhoghovurd: ENA submits bid for raising electricity prices
The Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) has applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission requesting to increase the electricity prices, Zhoghovurd reports.
According to the newspaper’s sources, the company offers to increase the daytime tariffs to 58 drams per kWh and nighttime tariffs to 48 drams per kWh. So, ENA offers to raise the electricity prices by 16 drams, or 38 percent.
“Of course, it is not excluded that ENA indicated such high tariffs so that the Commission will reduce them. They will do it in such a way that the people will not be discontent, but will even thank them for raising the tariffs by 10 drams and not 16 drams.
“ENA will make comments in a few days after the application is made public,” the newspaper says.
