Ilham Aliyev did not wear St. George Ribbon on May 9 parade; Azerbaijani Defense Ministry ‘photoshops’ Armenian flag
The Victory Day parade was held in Moscow on May 9. Virtually all of the foreign guests wore Victory Day symbols on their jackets, which were specially made for the commemorative events by the presidential management (St. George Ribbon pinned with a badge depicting a white dove and the digit 70. Vladimir Putin was the first to appear in public with it on May 8). Still, for some reason two CIS leaders, the Turkmen and the Azerbaijani Presidents, did without the Victory symbol on that day, the website of the newspaper Moskovskij Komsomolets writes.
The spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Tigran Balayan, wrote on Twitter that Baku falsifies not only the history but also the reality. He uploaded on Twitter 2 photos from the parade. The national flag of Armenia had quite sloppily been removed - with the help of graphical programs - from the photos downloaded from the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry website.
May 9 is a special holiday for the Armenian people. On that day, the Armenian people celebrate not only the victory over the fascist Germany in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), but also the victory in Artsakh (Karabakh) liberation war (1991-994) and the Liberation of Shushi from the Azerbaijani occupation (May 8, 1992).
