European Commissioner: Higher education is key value for democratic state
These two days are too important. Higher education is a key value for a democratic state, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Tibor Navracsics stated at the Yerevan-hosted European Higher Education Area (EHEA) Ministerial Conference and Fourth Bologna Policy Forum.
“Much has changed after the signing of the Bologna Declaration. The freedom of expression and academic thought were attacked in Europe and therefore we must work together.
“A conflict leads to many dangers, including the deadlocking of exchange of views, knowledge and experience,” said the European Commissioner.
In his words, the new generation of students likes innovations and therefore it is necessary to give them the possibility to get high-quality higher education.
