Armenian President praises police reforms
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Saturday participated in a ceremony dedicated to the 97th anniversary of Armenian Police, the President’s press office reports.
The President congratulated the Police on their professional holiday. State awards and titles were bestowed upon several police officers. President Sargsyan wished them new achievements.
“Your service is special and difficult. You do really complex, but gratifying and honorable work. At the same time, we must admit that the attitude to the activities of the police is not unequivocal in our society, as in many other countries. Sometimes we see manifestations of mistreatment of police,” said the President.
“The police system is constantly in the process of reforms, which for its part gives rise to new problems and, of course, there is a need to find new solutions. The reforms produce positive results and these results are really visible today. I believe that they will be more visible tomorrow,” he stressed.
