Youth of European People's Party adopts resolution recognizing and condemning Armenian Genocide
The Youth of the European People's Party (YEPP) has adopted a resolution recognizing and condemning the genocides of the Armenians, Pontic Greeks and Assyrians.
The resolution was adopted at the organization’s 10th congress held in Portugal, the Youth Foundation of Armenia told Armenpress.
The document, particularly, runs as follows: “The youth wing of the European People’s Party urges the member states of the EU and the European Council, as well as the international organizations, to recognize and restore the historical reality in memory of the victims of the genocides of the Armenians, Pontic Greeks and Assyrians.
All the interested sides recognize the genocides of the Armenians, Pontic Greeks and Assyrians and adopt April 24 and May 19 as the remembrance days of the Armenian Genocide and the Genocide of Pontic Greeks respectively.”
250 young leaders representing over 40 countries participated in the organization’s 10th congress. The YEPP unanimously adopted the resolution.
