Galust Sahakyan: Museums have significant role in biographies of states and peoples
Armenian National Assembly Speaker Galust Sahakyan issued a congratulatory message on the International Museum Day.
“I congratulate the employees of the museums, the specialists of the museum work and all art lovers on International Museum Day.
The museums, having assumed the role of a peculiar guard of history and culture, implement a mission which never loses its importance. Keeping values, they are valuable as centers of culture which hopefully store the time and memory, art and craft, the power of thought and hand.
In the biographies of states and peoples the museums have a significant role, connecting the past and the present, and bridging with the future. They are peculiar chroniclers with the collections of exhibits, findings and art works, which begin to talk through the devoted work of the museum employees and specialists of museum work. Due to the latter the contact of the art lover and the museum visitor with the history and culture becomes sincere and perceptive: work which is unreservedly worth the highest assessment.
Congratulating you on this cultural holiday, I wish there is no lack of visitors ever, and that the museums be compiled with new exhibits, and the people, who are devoted to the museum work, continue their grateful work in more peaceful, more well-off and more dignified conditions,” the message said.
