Results of communities enlargement referendum released
The results of the May 17 referendum on the enlargement of Armenian communities have been released, the press service of Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) reports.
In Lori province, Tumanyan (576 for, 36 against), Lorut (125 for, 115 against), Marts (99 for, 31 against) and Karinj (113 for, 83 against) approved the enlargement of communities. Aghnidzor, Atan and Shamut voted against the enlargement.
All communities in Syunik province voted for the enlargement.
In Tavush province, as a result of the referendum, Dilijan, Haghartsin, Teghut, Gosh, Aghavnadzor, Khachardzan and Hovk communities will be enlarged into one community, Dilijan, with Dilijan city as the community center.
