Armenian, Russian Emergency Ministers sign agreement on joint humanitarian reaction center
The Emergency Situations Ministers of Armenia and Russia on Tuesday signed an intergovernmental agreement on the opening of Armenian-Russian Center for Humanitarian Response, RIA Novosti reports.
Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said at the ceremony that the center will have the necessary equipment to respond to major emergencies such as earthquakes, floods or technogenic emergencies.
According to the news agency’s source in the Russian rescue services, the new center will be located in the Armenian town of Getargel. The center will enable to effectively respond to emergency situations in the border areas of Armenia and Russia as well as in third countries.
