Azerbaijani capital stuffed with deadly residential buildings: causes of dreadful fire in Baku revealed

Fire erupted in a multi-story building in Azadlig Avenue, 289, Baku on May 19. According to the information, the plastic cover of the building burnt down. The workers of the Fire Service of the Emergency Situations Ministry of Azerbaijan arrived at the scene. They managed to localize the fire. The number of the killed people as a result of the fire grew to 16; 61 people are injured. There are 5 young children among those killed, the Ministry of Health reported, according to the Azerbaijani news portal Haqqin.az.

According to the article, the Ministry of Health said that the identities of 7 out of the 16 killed have been established: 1.5-year-old Javadov Vugar oglu; Kerimova Nazilya Malik gyzy, 39; Kerimova Ayan Anar gyzy, 5; Huseynov Ayhan Shahin oglu, 2; Magerramova Farah Elnur gyzy, 3; Bagirov Sahib Rahim oglu, 46; Bagirova Firangiz Rahim gyzy, 60.

“This is already the second case in one month that fire quickly spreads during the inferno because of the inflammable building materials. The traffic along Azadlig Avenue to the district of the scene is limited; the drivers are advised to use Shovket Mammadova Street. A helicopter has been brought for putting out the fire. The interior minister Ramil Usubov, Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov, deputy Prosecutor General Rustam Usubov are at the scene,” Trend agency reports.

The information agency Vesti.az adds that the dreadful fire that happened in Azadlig Avenue claimed the lives of dozens of innocent people. And the cause were the ‘unmatched’ polyurethane sheets that covered the building. “The Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, Zakir Garalov, also admitted this fact. But what happens is that this building is not the only one in Baku threatening death by burning. Thanks to Baku Chief executive Hajibali Abutalibov’s boundless, reaching to frenzy love towards the covering materials, our capital is literally stuffed with deadly residential buildings which can become the final resting place,” the information agency writes.

After that tragedy Baku residents realized that the rescue of drowning – the handiwork of drowning, and the rescue of burning – the handiwork of the residents that are still alive, the article reads.

“Hence the reason Baku residents, without waiting for the mayor’s measures, decided to do the work for him by themselves. They did not trouble the city executives and decided to extend their lives by themselves. The residents of some of the buildings with those covers set on to getting rid of the polyurethane sheets with their own hands. The photos spread in the social media clearly show that Baku residents want to live. No matter how deep they love Hajibali Abutalibov. Though, most probably, those people will face criminal punishment for destroying ‘the historic monuments of culture.’ Yet it is better to get into the prison than burn alive or suffocate with the smoke of the polyurethane sheets,” the publication reads.
