Lavrov, Mogherini discuss Russia-EU relations
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini discussed the Russia-EU bilateral relations at a meeting, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Tuesday, Sputnik reports.
The meeting took place on Monday within the session of the Council of Europe in Brussels.
“The issues of international cooperation in the area of fight against illegal immigration, a number of regional subjects, as well as some aspects of the Russia-EU bilateral relations were discussed during the talk,” the statement read.
Lavrov is currently participating in the 125th ministerial session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe that is held on May 18-19 in Brussels.
Earlier on Monday, Lavrov met Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland. They discussed a number of issues, including interstate and intergovernmental cooperation within the Council of Europe.
