Haykakan Zhamanak: Governor’s sons receive huge donations
The family members of Ararat Governor Rubik Abrahamyan were born under a lucky star. Last year his wife and two sons received donations and registered income that were unrelated to salaries, Haykakan Zhamanak reports.
“In 2014, the incomes of the Governor and his wife increased to 15 million drams from 12 million drams, to 21,000 dollars from 18,000 dollars, and to 16,000 euros from 8,000 euros. The Governor’s sons, Emin and Gor, received, respectively, 10 million drams and 11,000 dollars as donation. Gor also received an income of 4 million drams from entrepreneurial activities. The Governor received 3.3 million drams salary in 2014,” the newspaper says.
“A question arises: if it is possible to receive such gifts and incomes without having a job, why does Abrahamyan need the poor position of governor?” the newspaper comments.
