1,048 traffic accidents registered in Armenia this year – police official
A total of 1,048 traffic accidents have been registered in Armenia since the beginning of the year, head of the Patrol Service Department of Traffic Police Norik Sargsyan told a news conference on Wednesday.
According to him, these accidents left 87 dead and 1,477 injured. The number of traffic accidents increased by 59 compared to last year, the number of deaths decreased by 15, while the number of injured grew by 98.
In his words, the number of vehicles in the country increases by 10 percent yearly. So, the higher number of accidents could be expected.
