Armenian FM to travel to Syria
Upon the instruction of Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian will travel to Syria in the near future to familiarize with the situation there, Armenian Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan said on Thursday.
A group of Armenian MPs will also visit Syria, she said at the cabinet meeting.
About 200 people came to Armenia from Aleppo recently. The Ministry of Diaspora keeps in touch with the diplomatic missions and Aleppo-based Armenian organizations, which provide support to our compatriots, Ms Hakobyan said.
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, for his part, instructed the respective agencies to coordinate their activities and provide maximum support to Syrian Armenians.
