Armenian PM: If planned programs are implemented, we will ensure 4.1 percent economic growth
The Armenian government on Thursday approved the draft decision on the Central Bank’s 2015 monetary policy program.
Armenian Deputy Minister of Finance Vakhtang Mirumyan noted that the Central Bank’s assessments of the macroeconomic environment, reflected in the monetary policy program for 2015, are, in general, in compliance with the key directions outlined in the Armenian government’s macroeconomic program.
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said that Armenia registered 2.2-2.3 percent economic growth over the first four months of this year, and expressed confidence that the country will have 2-3 percent economic growth in 2015.
“We must stop empty talks that the country will face economic decline. Some political forces or figures want the government to collapse and economy to decline, but I am convinced that their wish will not come true and we will have economic growth,” the Prime Minister said, adding that if the planned programs are implemented, we will ensure 4.1 percent economic growth, as stipulated by the state budget.
