No concrete plans to move Yerevan-based universities to Gyumri – Minister
At present, there are no concrete plans to move the universities from Yerevan to Gyumri, Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan told reporters on Monday.
He stressed that higher education institutions are not just buildings to be moved wherever one would like to – they are live organisms.
Discussions on structural modernization of higher education institutions are going on for several years, said the Minister. There have been proposals on merger of universities, transfer of several universities to Abovyan. However, he stressed, these issues must not be discussed outside the context.
