Russia adopts program to replace US, EU defense imports
Russia has endorsed a program up to 2020 to replace imports from the US and Europe in the defense industry, a deputy chairman of the Russian governmental Military-Industrial Commission, Oleg Bochkarev, said on Tuesday, TASS reports.
"Yes, it has been adopted, and we have started fulfilling it. It is up to 2020," Bochkarev said.
The program was initially planned to be adopted in autumn last year, but the deadline has been repeatedly postponed. Bochkarev earlier said the implementation of this program could take up to five years on the most complex items.
