Czech Young Social Democrats condemn Armenian Genocide
The youth branch of the Czech Social Democratic Party has adopted a resolution on the Armenian Genocide. The text of the resolution is posted on its Facebook page.
“The fate of the Armenians is a perfect example of the history of mass extermination, ethnic cleansing, deportation and genocide, which marked the 20th century in a horrific manner.
Czech Young Social Democrats, whose core values include justice and humanity, condemn the Armenian genocide by the Ottoman Empire, which began a century ago and lasted for eight years. There is no doubt that the mutual conflict between the Ottoman Empire and the Armenians grew up into the systematic destruction of the Armenian nation and culture.
We call upon the leaders of Turkey and of the States that have done so, to recognize these historic events as a genocide and to bring forward negotiations leading to the normalization of the relations between Turkey and Armenia," the resolution reads.
